Unable to use JSON format URL

Tried to follow the webcast with my own data model. Created a
model (chatter) and tried to add one. Worked fine. Now, tried to
load the data in a json format:
http://localhost/recess/gchat/chatter/1.json
This errors out with
Unable to provide desired content-type. Does the view
"chatter/details" exist?
Location: Line 91 of
C:\xampplite\htdocs\recess\recess\recess\framework\DefaultPolicy.class.php
I then took the advice of the comment in getViewFor and removed
the conditional, and presto, JSON support works.
Question: Why doesn't it work to start with? And is the fix I did the correct one?
Version: Latest from SVN as of Jan 18, 2010.

like this, your annotation should contain a comma
